Good quality but parts missing

This mount does seem well made as others have mentioned. I also discovered the same problems as others with the included screws being too small to use with the TV and no brackets for mounting a 200 X 200 TV. The screw problem was easily resolved in my case by reusing the screws that held the base plate of the TV. I called the company about the mount not fitting my TV as advertised and they told me that parts were missing from the kit I received and offered to send the brackets I need at no cost. So it was not the most seamless installation but eventually it got done. As a side note I suggest downloading the new instructions from their web site. They are far more detailed then the instructions that come in the box.

Same issue with the clouding/flashlighting in 1-3 of the corners for me as well. On my second one from Best Buy and will be returning it for possibly a different brand of TV all together. At first I was wondering if I was being over critical, then I realized how much money I was spending and that my 32" Sharp that this replaced had no such issue.

Working in the tech industry for over three years, I'm aware of "acceptable tolerances" of LCD panels, but this is just too much to be acceptable in my opinion when you're watching a dark screen or a letterboxed DVD and there are spotlights in the corners, or clouding in other parts of the screen.

Hopefully whatever I decide to go with doesn't have the same LCD panels in it, even though I know there aren't many manufacturers.

Shame, love the features and aesthetics of the unit.

Good Picture quality. Love the thinness of the TV. Black is very good, comparable to my great older Panasonic plasma TV. Many people have reviewed pros of the tv. I'll focus more on the cons here.

Although the TV has internet connectivity, many of the functions are not very useful. To load Yahoo widgets, it takes forever. It doesn't try to cache data even though bandwidth cost is very small. DLNA works well in a sense that it connects, however, to play a video file, you have to wait for quite a while for TV to play it. Simply unbearable.

Remote button is not very responsive. Not sure it's TV processor being slow or poor remote quality.

TV's previous channel function is not working as it should. If the "previous channel" is another source other than TV, it won't work. All my previous TV can toggle between live TV channel and another input source if that source is used right before or after a TV channel.

To select an item in on-screen menu, you have to move up/down. That's the only way. If there are multiple items between where you are and where you want the highlight to be, you have to press many times. There should be a number in each of the options so that it takes a maximum of 2 button clicks to select one item. I constantly switch between TV and Input Sources. I have to say that it's a pain in the ass to do it.

There are so many positives to this tv.
1. Value - This amazing tv can be had for around 1100 yet compete with those costing 4,000.
2. Media Center - This also supports external usb hard drives and just about every video and audio codec out there today. Regular Divx movies now look amazing and actually better than upscaled dvd did on my 5 year old Toshiba HDTV.
3. Vivid picture when there is sunlight coming into the room. My old HDTV was very hard to see because of glare. I had to cover some of my upper windows just to see the picture during the day. Now with this screen there is no problems no matter what amount of light that there is.
4. Screen burn protection - This tv includes a anti burn pixel shift that you do not notice even if you stare close up that prevents what some other plasmas as well as crt's can get.
5. Connections - I can now hook up a dvd player,PS3,laptop,DirectvHD DVR,external antenna and still have plenty of video inputs to work with. HDMI 1.3 needed for 1080P content of course.
6. OTA - I was actually able to get 35 channels (many in HD) with a simple fm antenna here in Orlando. The OTA tuner seems to be able to pull on weak signals very well and the picture quality is excellent.
7. Software - The tv has built in cookbooks and other cool features if you choose to use it. Along with any number of widgets that make it seems more like a computer rather than just a tv. Ethernet connection used for widgets updates.

Cons I can really find any other than a small annoyance. The tv memory is only 189 megs. Each software that you install (such as cookbooks or art gallery) takes up between 20 and 30 megs leaving little space to work with. Although you can just plug in a flash drive in one of the two usb ports on the side and utilize the software from that. Or you could play a movie directly from the flash drive, or music, or photos. The options seem almost endless. I try to say cons and end up saying more good things about this tv. If you have the cash then jump on this deal. I opted for the two year no interest/payment deal with amazon card to pay as we go. Funds a little low since we just bought a house but this deal was too good to pass up. Coupled with a THX Certified surround system ,you have yourself an incredible home theater as well as everyday HDTV.

While it was available for a short time I bought this Sony from Amazon. Apparently Amazon uses a special kind of delivery service for tv's and such. He brought it into the living room and offered to check it by unpacking it, setting it up, and turning it on. Yup. But, and I've read this nowhere, he said that Sony says not to power it on if it's less than 50 degrees. Yeah it's June, but this is the mountains. The overnight and then three hour delivery drive had the truck at about 40 degrees. He unpacked it and set it up, I looked it over and called it good. I wasn't about to risk power on at its temperature. Nor should you about any LCD, or likely plasma, tv. I let it sit overnight to warm up first. All is well.

Low Price Samsung LN40B650 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV With Red Touch Of Color

I did a lot of research on many LCD HDTV's including actual in-store demonstrations and concluded that Samsung's 650 series was the best for me based on quality and price. I won't say it was better than anything I included in my research, but as for the picture quality and ease of use, I am thrilled having made an excellent purchase. And, as a first time buyer of an expensive item through Amazon, I am equally thrilled by their delivery and customer service. Now why do I say Customer service? Well, after installing the unit in my bedroom, I found it to be too small. Amazon completely understood my dilemma and perfectly handled the transaction to replace the 40" with a 46". I am now saving for a 55" for my living room, however, since time has passed, I will do another research for the best 55" that meets my needs.

Sony BRAVIA V-Series KDL-46V5100 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black

After checking out comparable 1080p 46" models from Sharp, Samsung and Panasonic, we settled on the Sony KDL-46V5100 to replace our dying 10 year old 27" Panasonic. Got it in May. We are very impressed by the overall picture quality. I am sensitive to jerky images that some models have: this one renders pretty well. The HD quality is incredible: on one particular CSI Miami fly-over shot of the beach, everything was so crystal clear that I rubbed my eyes in disbelief! I was aware of the "darkening" problem that others have mentioned and applied Sony's patch right off the bat, so it is not been an issue for us.

Interestingly, 3 stations (ABC, Fox and PBS) that had worked fine on el-cheapo Comcast service (analog) in the City of Atlanta stopped working altogether (analog or HD) after the June 12 transition, while NBC/CBS and a couple of indie stations continued to work fine in 1080p HD! I did not want to upgrade to digital service just to get three "free stations", so I bought the cheapest available HD capable antenna from Radio Shack and hooked it through an A/B switch. Now we get 28 digital channels off the air, including all the major networks in HD. We still use cable to watch some services in 480p resolution, but that is acceptable to us.

My only complaint with this TV is the remote: it works fine with the TV, but cannot be programmed to use with other devices (such as the audio system.) That means it is back to multiple remotes for TV and audio system :-( I guess Sony wants users to pay extra for an upgraded remote? Our 10 year old Panasonic remote was functionally superior.

Great Unit,this is what I like about it:
1. it has a great image quality,
2. great contrast ratio
3. It plays avi and mkv videos directly from an usb port, (portable hard drive or usb flash memory)
4. the red trim makes it very atractive
5. it can connect wireless with the extra dongle.

Cons:
1. hard to see the buttons in the unit. (not the remote)but at the same time this makes it look more elegant so it is not a big con.

Toshiba 40RV525R 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

I recently purchased this TV from another source (I would have bought it here on Amazon but I got a better financing deal through a chain store's website, not BB).

I actually purchased this one and the 32" model. We are moving and I needed a larger HDTV for my living room to replace a 32" Olevea. I also own a Sony 46" so please don't think I am just doing my comparison to the Olevea. This Toshiba 40" unit is great. First of all, space wise, it takes up little footprint aside from the actual screen space. Some TV's have a huge area to the left and right for speakers or just by design that don't allow for such a fantastic screen size in such a small fitting. My cabinet just barely fits this TV with about a half inch max to spare on either side, which is exactly what I wanted. So I have hooked it up with DirecTV, Xbox360, PS3, and an HD-DVD player and it looks fantastic on everything. What I noticed was the blacks are black first of all. So often you don't really get black, you get a hazy gray. But this is black where black is on the screen. Everything is sharp and fantastic.

I am a guy who watches the news all day while working and grinds away at videogames in my free time. So I stare at screens a lot, and this one is a winner. I tested it with PS3's Killzone and WOW! I also played a couple hours of Fallout3 Mothership Zeta and it looked significantly better than play earlier in the day on the Olevea (or play in the other room on the Sony 46") Unfortunately, this one is going to end up in my living room and not the office area where I work when I move, so I wont be using it as much as the Sony (which is finding its way into the office/den). But when I play the PS3, wii, 360, or watch an HD-DVD, bluray, or upscaled DVD, along with DirecTV HD programming and FIOS HD programming as soon as I can get it again (I'm moving out of FIOS territory and it won't be available there until Jan 2010), I am in for a real treat. Family night will never look so good!

Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV With Charcoal Grey Touch Of Color

Well, I ordered Samsung ln52b750 from Amazon on August 6th, 2009. I got it delivered the next week. I set it up on Saturday, and wouldn't you know it, it would not power on. Boy, was I mad. A $2,000.00 tv that would not power on. I opened a support ticket with Samsung. I thought Amazon would exchange it for me. To my dismay, Amazon would not exchange the tv without a reference number from Samsung. I had to call Samsung customer support and get the reference number. I played the game and contacted Samsung, only to find out I would be contacted by Samsung ECRA department within the next two to three business days. Well, I waited until Wednesday (called on Sunday), and no call from the ECRA department. I initiated another call to Samsung to talk with someone directly in the ECRA department. After two calls, the first call was placed on hold for well over 20 minutes, I got to talk with someone at Samsung. I was told I would have to wait for a repair man to come to the house to determine what the problem is/was. To make a long story short, the repair man determined that the main circuit board in the tv was burnt out. He has no idea how and when it occurred. I now have a tv that is suppose to be new, but is really refurbished from Samsung/Amazon. Not overly thrilled about the picture on the tv, kind of fuzzy. From what I learned from this experience is don't buy major appliances online. I also would not have the luxury of contacting my mastercard company and complaining about a defective product. As it was bought online and not within my state. Buyer beware!
